For over 30 years, Thomas has helped clients navigate their financial journeys with confidence and clarity. In 2011, he co-founded a planning-focused RIA, combining his technology background, Georgetown MBA, and CFP® certification to create a firm built on independent, client-first advice. This entrepreneurial chapter, following nearly two decades in financial services — including seven years at Merrill Lynch — has been a defining part of his career, reflecting his commitment to guiding clients toward their goals.
Guided by the lessons of 2008, Thomas believes strongly in the importance of independence and a planning-first approach. He views money as a tool to support what matters most — educating children, protecting lifestyles, and providing stability during uncertain times — rather than as an end in itself. His work as both a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and National CFP® Instructor reflects his commitment to helping clients identify, prioritize, and achieve their most meaningful goals. Farther helps Thomas combine his expertise in finance, technology, and teaching to deliver a more personalized and forward-thinking experience for clients.
Thomas holds a BA from the University of Virginia and an MBA with highest honors (Beta Gamma Sigma) from Georgetown University. A lifelong Washingtonian and Gonzaga alumnus, he lives in Bethesda, Maryland with his wife, their three sons, and an amazing black lab.
Outside the office, he enjoys competing in Father-Son Grass Court tennis tournaments, surfing whenever the waves allow, and capturing his sons’ and their teammates' meaningful moments in tennis, lacrosse, and volleyball through his passion for amateur photography.
