Derek combines compassion and 30 years of expertise in financial services to design personalized financial plans for his clients that serve as roadmaps for success: aligning every decision with their aspirations. He holds an MS in Science & Technology from the University of Texas at Austin and a BS in Biology from the University of Cincinnati. Derek enjoys understanding each client’s motivations; and he incorporates diligent planning, disciplined execution, sound asset management, and thoughtful budgeting into his process. He believes true freedom comes from living the life you envision—and that everyone’s dreams are within reach.
Derek previously worked with educators and professors, guiding them through the complexities of 403(b) and 457 plans, as well as pension plans. His meticulous attention to detail and commitment to planning ensure clients feel supported every step of the way.
Outside of work, Derek enjoys hiking, camping, and mountain biking. He volunteers with the local chapter of the Sierra Club and serves on the board of Women in Neuroscience, a nonprofit supporting women in the sciences. Derek and his wife are proud parents of three teenage children: his toughest (but most rewarding) clients.
