Before joining Value Wealth Management 17 years ago, Jim held a range of investment and research leadership roles, including Junior Equity Analyst at Robert W. Baird, High Yield Credit Analyst at Principal Global Investors, Director of Investment Strategy and Equity Research at Investors Management Group, and Senior Securities Analyst at Aviva USA. A CFA charterholder and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional (CFP®), he earned his BS in Finance with a minor in Economics from Drake University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Iowa. He stays connected to Drake as an advisor to the university’s Equity Valuation and Analysis course and serves on the board of the Jack Pribaz Foundation as a scientific liaison and research-funding advisor supporting advancements in genetic epilepsy research.
Outside of work, Jim enjoys spending time with his family and coaching youth soccer.
